ResponsibilitiesThis specific role will initially focus on supporting the new business experience for financial professionals (and may evolve beyond over time).
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the New Business Experience Owner to define the future state experience and plan for near-term outcomes and initiatives
- Consulting with project teams across the Annuity and Shared portfolios to ensure that we deliver an optimal experience for partners and members
- Researching competitor experiences and best practices and developing recommendations
- Researching current state experience of our partners and members across channels and product types and developing recommendations
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of the future state vision and roadmaps across the partner and member lifecycle
- Representing the Annuity Experience Team on various committees to help better inform our post-issue experience.
This role will work across all areas of the Annuity and Shared organizations and offer opportunities to grow your network and broaden your skillset. Ideal candidates will excel at:
- Customer experience research, planning, execution and measurement
- Analyzing and synthesizing data to develop insights and propose recommendations to improve the partner and member experience
- Communication and collaboration across the organization
This position will be hired on a Success Flex basis.
The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of the following location(s):
Columbus:
One/Three Nationwide Plaza, Columbus OH, 43215
This role requires a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office (Tues, Wed, Thurs), 2 days remote (Mon, Fri)
This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

As a Consultant, you'll lead the initiation, development, and maintenance of products with respect to design, profitability, and growth. We'll count on you to collect information and make recommendations regarding overall corporate objectives, field operations and staff services.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Serves as a technical professional in the analysis of pricing and design features, product, and profitability.
- Actively finds opportunities for improvement and makes solution recommendations.
- Provides support and guidance related to product design and management.
- Provides high level, strategic input on key initiatives addressing product strategy and profitability objectives.
- Participates and may lead new business development and implementation projects.
- Works with Product Directors to predict needs and issues. Acts as a resource to Product Directors. Reacts appropriately to market conditions.
- Identifies and evaluates business opportunities. Partners with leadership to provide a regular assessment of financial results and recommendations to increase future profitability.
- Investigates and assists in development of new tools and technology to improve product performance.
- Reviews and analyzes highly technical and sophisticated market information on benchmark competitors. Identifies options to keep products market-competitive.
Reports to Director or Officer
Typical Skills And Experiences EducationUndergraduate degree in finance, economics, marketing, or related field preferred. Graduate degree desired.
License/Certification/DesignationIndustry designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM, CLU, FLMI, ChFC, CFP, NASD, etc.) preferred.
ExperienceTypically, eight years of relevant experience in a related industry.
Knowledge, Abilities and SkillsDemonstrated strategic decision making. Proficiency in the use of analytic tools, plans pricing and products. Ability to drive for results, navigate ambiguity and to understand strategic objectives. Ability to lead high profile projects. Ability to creatively present ideas in written form and through presentations. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
