Superintendent
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Superintendent directs employees, sub‑contractors, material suppliers, and inspectors of specific projects. The Superintendent is the field representative of Brackett Builders, Inc. The Superintendent organizes the work and coordinates the various aspects of construction. This individual may work alone or with others, with or without supervision, and is expected to complete duties in a manner that meets or exceeds standards set by Brackett Builders Inc.

- Read and interpret plans and specifications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Consult with engineers, architects, and owners on design problems
- Accurately estimate cost, materials, and laborers needed for construction in cooperation with others
- Evaluate alternative methods of construction for cost efficiency and quality
- Establish standard operating procedures based on evaluation of methods of construction
- Organize workforce and assign work
- Supervise laborers and subcontractors establishing workflow and priorities to maintain quality and efficiency
- Coordinate, direct, and schedule work by sub-contractors understanding the basic concepts and methods used by subcontractors
- Establish quality control standards and supervise their implementation
- Accurately complete weekly production reports, timesheets, and other records
- Keeps abreast of latest trends of the Construction industry
- Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company and customers
- High School diploma or equivalent or 1 to 3 years equivalent experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to give clear directions and respond to inquiries
- Exceptional customer service skills
The Superintendent works onsite with external and internal customers, subcontractors, and vendors on a regular basis. While most work is completed indoors, work conditions may vary due to remodeling, relocation, or restructuring. The Superintendent may spend time outside in varying temperatures as determined by the weather.
Physical RequirementsThe Superintendent’s physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
