My client is a highly respected Top ENR general contractor with a strong Midwest presence and a national reputation for delivering complex mission critical, industrial, healthcare, higher education, and large-scale commercial projects. Known for their collaborative culture, strong leadership, and long-term employee retention, they continue to grow their Ohio operations and are expanding their Preconstruction team to support a robust project pipeline.

They are seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to play a key role in shaping projects from early concept through GMP and contract award.

Compensation: $115K-$165K+ and full benefits

As a Preconstruction Manager
, you will lead the front-end planning and estimating efforts for complex, large-scale projects, partnering closely with owners, architects, and internal operations teams. You’ll be responsible for driving accurate budgets, managing risk, and ensuring projects are positioned for successful execution before they ever break ground.

This is a high-impact, highly visible role with direct influence on project outcomes and client relationships.

• Lead preconstruction efforts from conceptual budgeting through GMP and contract award
• Develop detailed estimates, cost models, and value engineering options across multiple project phases
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners during design development
• Manage subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, scope reviews, and buyout strategy
• Identify and mitigate project risk related to scope, schedule, logistics, and constructability
• Support pursuit strategy, presentations, and client interviews
• Partner closely with Project Executives, PMs, and Superintendents to ensure seamless handoff to operations
• Contribute to continuous improvement of preconstruction processes and standards

• 4+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or operations with a reputable general contractor
• Strong background supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, mission critical, healthcare, or institutional projects
• Experience developing conceptual through detailed estimates on projects ranging from $25M–$300M+
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, and risk analysis
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with owners and design teams
• Proficiency with estimating and preconstruction tools (e.g.,
  Procore, Bluebeam, Excel
