Monday-Friday, within the 6:00am–5:00pm range, 45-50 work hours per week (40 Regular hours and 5-10 Overtime hours). Occasional weekend work may be required as well
Compensation: $52 to $58 per hour
OverviewA leading renewable energy solutions provider is seeking a Solar Construction Manager to support the delivery of a solar PV carport and EV charging installation project for POLARIS in Columbus, OH. This role will be responsible for overseeing construction execution, contractor coordination, safety compliance, and schedule performance across multiple active sites.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience managing renewable energy or electrical infrastructure projects, strong field leadership, and the ability to work effectively between EPC partners, subcontractors, utilities, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities Construction Oversight- Oversee day‑to‑day construction activities for a solar PV carport and EV charging installation project
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Coordinate EPCs, subcontractors, inspectors, and utility representatives on‑site
- Monitor construction schedules and proactively identify risks to milestones
- Track progress against scope, schedule, and budget; escalate issues as needed
- Ensure quality control processes are followed and deficiencies are resolved
- Enforce site safety plans and ensure compliance with OSHA and project‑specific safety requirements
- Conduct site walks, toolbox talks, and safety audits
- Maintain documentation related to safety, inspections, and compliance
- Serve as the on‑site liaison between the company, contractors, utilities, AHJs, and owners
- Support commissioning, testing, and turnover activities
- Participate in construction meetings and provide regular progress reporting
- Support punch list resolution and final inspections
- Assist with documentation turnover, as‑builts, and closeout packages
- Support successful project handoff to operations and maintenance teams
- 2 to 3+ years of construction management experience with solar PV, EV charging installation, electrical, and/or utility‑scale infrastructure/construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades
- Familiarity with NEC, electrical safety standards, and utility interconnection processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with construction documentation and reporting tools
- Strong Procore system experience
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience working in live facilities, public‑sector, or federally funded projects (preferred)
- Owner’s representative or EPC interface experience (preferred)
