Position Summary
This role supports the field team by maintaining safe, organized, and efficient construction sites. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and removing temporary and permanent wood-framed safety systems, correcting unsafe conditions, maintaining tools and equipment, assisting with site organization and housekeeping, and supporting overall project operations.
All activities will be performed in support of the values of Elmington Construction.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of jobsite safety controls, signage, barricades, and protection requirements
- Proficiency using hand tools and basic power tools safely and efficiently
- Ability to operate or learn operate telehandlers, forklifts, and skid loaders (certification as required)
- Skill in performing minor carpentry repairs, adjustments, and touch-ups
- Familiarity with multifamily construction
- Problem-Solving Skills
- Install temporary and permanent wood-framed safety systems, including handrails, guardrails, stair and balcony protection, floor and shaft edge protection, barricades, and safety blocking
- Modify, repair, and maintain safety installations as building conditions and phases progress
- Remove temporary safety systems when they are no longer required and approved for removal
- Install and remove temporary construction materials such as barricades, protection, signage, and safety controls
- Participate in site observations, inspections, and walk-throughs to identify safety, quality, and completion items
- Assists in executing punch list execution and complete corrective work related to carpentry, safety systems, and site conditions (e.g, unit turns, including minor repairs, adjustments, and touch-ups)
- Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a safe, organized, and job-ready condition
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools safety & efficiently
- Operate Telehandler (lull), skid loader, and forklift
- Support overall jobsite housekeeping, including debris removal, material organization, maintaining clear access paths, and protecting completed work
- Support schedule and productivity goals by completing task efficiently and with attention to quality
- Assists with exterior work such as site clean-up, landscaping prep, fencing, or common area improvements as needed
- Lock/unlock unit doors & windows for opening & closing of project
- Fuel & maintain buggies and generators
- Comply with all OSHA regulations and company safety standards related to fall protection and site safety
- Proactively identify unsafe conditions and immediately correct them or communicate concerns to the Superintendent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to work outside on construction site including all types of weather (extremes of hot/cold)
- You will be working in a temporary facility/structure
- Able to stand; crawl; climb ladders & stairs; balance; stoop and kneel; etc (physical activities associated with construction sites)
- You must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- You frequently work near moving mechanical parts. You occasionally work in high, precarious places and are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. You should be able to recognize these hazards or potential hazards a react accordingly to protect the workforce and provide OSHA compliant safeguards
