Position Overview Our client, a reputable general contractor based in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to join their growing team. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial projects across the industrial, office, education, and healthcare sectors. Project sizes range from $10,000 to $20 million. This role will primarily support the Design/Build Manager by preparing estimates for schematic, design development, and permit-level drawings.

Key Responsibilities Develop accurate budgets for projects at conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document phases

Prepare competitive hard-bid estimates for plan and spec projects

Assist the service department with smaller project estimates and line-item budgets

Perform value engineering analysis to optimize project costs

Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and deadlines

Present budgets and estimates to clients, providing supporting documentation as needed

Collaborate with designers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process

Qualifications & Skills Ability to build and maintain strong client and vendor relationships

Skilled at developing scope of work from limited or conceptual information

Strong mathematical, analytical, and writing skills

Creative problem-solving abilities

Growth mindset with a desire to contribute to company expansion

Strong computer proficiency

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Confident presentation skills

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field3–5 years of commercial construction estimating experience
