AboutThe Role
We are presenting an opportunity to a mid‑level environmental health and safety professional to work within a high‑performing team of Construction EHS professionals in the Plain City, Ohio area. The role requires a confident, communicative leader who promotes safe daily work practices, enjoys tackling complex problems, and collaborates to strengthen programs.
Responsibilities- Provide support to large‑scale construction projects by initiating and attending meetings, performing site walks, and ensuring contract requirements are met.
- Perform construction safety field audits and collect field data using platforms such as Predictive Solutions and Construct Secure.
- Analyze worker health and safety data for trends.
- Educate stakeholder groups on EHS requirements and best practices.
- Collect data, create timely reports, and communicate trends from field inspections.
- Observe work practices onsite and develop solutions that optimize employee health and wellness.
- Coach craft worker personnel on OSHA/client requirements and expectations.
- Utilize Microsoft Office programs; knowledge of Excel pivot tables is a plus.
- Deliver technical training and lead meetings with client and trade partner EHS professionals.
- Develop training programs and slide decks for construction EHS topics.
- Lead meetings as the representative from EHS.
- Build programs in collaboration with the larger EHS team.
- Lead incident investigations to drive improvement, safe conditions, and work practices.
- Continuously learn about new and established processes.
- Lead and take direction, asking questions when needed.
- Demonstrate initiative and self‑startness.
- Previous experience as a Construction EHS Owners Representative is welcomed.
The Role (Qualifications)
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience required (7 years if no degree).
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Solve problems with a solutions‑oriented mindset and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to professional growth through continuous learning, certifications, or formal training.
- Willingness to pursue and obtain advanced safety certifications such as STSC, CHST, or CSP.
