Job Description

We are looking for Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians to support large, multi-year infrastructure and advanced facility projects in the Columbus, OH area. This is a hands‑on field role where your work directly contributes to building safe, reliable structures that serve communities for years to come.

Join a dynamic, value‑driven, client‑ and community‑focused environment where your work creates a lasting positive impact for the people and communities we serve.

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials to confirm they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain testing equipment at job sites, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Record detailed field data and submit daily reports, including observations, test results, and site conditions.
  • Communicate results, concerns, or inconsistencies to project managers and engineers in a timely and clear manner.
  • Support project teams by transporting materials, preparing samples, and assisting with field and lab coordination.
  • Follow all Atlas safety standards and job site requirements, identifying and addressing potential risks to maintain a safe work environment.
You’ll thrive here if you have
  • A high school diploma or GED, with 2+ years of experience in construction, field testing, or a related environment.
  • Hands‑on experience working on active construction sites and a strong understanding of job site safety expectations.
  • ACI Level I certification (or the ability to obtain it quickly) and interest in earning additional certifications such as ICC.
  • Experience performing or assisting with material testing (soil, concrete, asphalt) and accurately documenting results.
  • The ability to follow established testing procedures and standards with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and share information with engineers and project teams.
  • A reliable, accountable work style—you show up prepared, take ownership of your work, and follow through.
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing for extended periods, and lifting/handling equipment.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites and work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as project schedules require.
