About the Company

Steristat Cleaning Solutions is a Columbus-based commercial cleaning company providing construction cleaning and facility services to mid-size and large general contractors across the Columbus market.

The company has entered a deliberate growth phase, with a focus on deepening existing GC relationships, expanding our bid pipeline, and building a management team capable of running the business at scale.

The Role

We are hiring an Operations Director to own the day-to-day operational and client relationship functions of our construction cleaning division. This is a newly created role designed to close a critical gap: we need someone who is the consistent, proactive face to our general contractor clients, while also running the operational machine behind the work — scheduling, estimating, and crew coordination.

The right candidate moves naturally between Operations and Relationship Management— building trust with GC project managers one hour, then turning around a bid the next. Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is preferred.

What You'll Do Scheduling & Operations
  • Own the master schedule for all active construction projects
  • Coordinate crew assignments with site supervisors and field staff
  • Communicate schedule changes to GC contacts proactively — before they call you
  • Ensure crews have the supplies, equipment, and site access they need
  • Monitor job progress and flag scope changes or change order needs
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for all general contractor accounts
  • Maintain proactive, regular communication with GC project managers and site superintendents
  • Build a pipeline of upcoming projects — get in front of bid opportunities before RFPs are issued
  • Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings with GC contacts
  • Coordinate with our fractional construction sales person on new account targets and existing account growth
  • Log all client interactions and pipeline status in CRM tool
Estimating
  • Own the estimating process for all construction cleaning bids
  • Use AI-assisted tools for preliminary scope analysis — we have already built this workflow
  • Apply labor rates, materials, and margin targets to produce competitive, profitable bids
  • Target 48-hour turnaround on estimates — we currently run approximately 2-5 bids per week
  • Track win/loss rates and adjust pricing strategy based on patterns
  • Coordinate with the CEO on final approval for large or non-standard bids
Reporting
  • Weekly pipeline and operations update to CEO
  • Maintain live bid pipeline — all active estimates, stage, and expected close
What We're Looking For Must-Haves
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction — GC side, subcontractor, or construction services
  • Proven experience managing relationships with general contractor project managers or site supers
  • Comfortable being the face of a company — confident in meetings, on job sites, and on the phone
  • Organized and disciplined — you track things, you follow up, nothing falls through the cracks
  • Commercially minded — you think about pipeline, opportunity, and growth, not just task completion
  • Proactive communicator — you call before there is a problem, not after
Nice-to-Haves
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Estimating experience — reading drawings, scoping work, pricing bids
  • Familiarity with the Columbus GC market and key players
  • Experience at a specialty subcontractor or facility services company
  • Comfortable with technology — CRM tools, scheduling software, AI-assisted workflows

Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $70,000-$85,000
  • Performance bonus tied to revenue/gross profit growth — meaningful upside for the right person
