About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established civil contractor with a strong presence across Central Ohio and a growing backlog of site development work tied to the region’s commercial, industrial, data center, municipal, and infrastructure growth.

The company is seeking a Civil Sitework Project Manager to oversee earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, stormwater, and overall site infrastructure projects from preconstruction through closeout.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys the pace and complexity of civil site development and wants to join a contractor with steady local work, strong field capabilities, and long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage civil sitework projects from kickoff through completion, including budgets, schedules, documentation, field coordination, and closeout
  • Oversee scopes including earthwork, mass grading, excavation, underground utilities, storm/sanitary/waterline, paving, concrete flatwork, erosion control, and related site infrastructure
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents, foremen, crews, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, developers, engineers, municipalities, and general contractors
  • Review project plans, specifications, estimates, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and cost reports
  • Track project budgets, production, quantities, schedules, billing, and change management
  • Support project planning, sequencing, procurement, subcontractor/vendor coordination, and field execution
  • Identify and resolve project issues proactively to protect schedule, margin, safety, and quality
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external project stakeholders
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and company expectations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, trade partners, municipalities, and internal field teams
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of project management experience within civil construction, sitework, earthwork, utilities, paving, excavation, or related infrastructure work
  • Experience managing projects or scopes involving grading, underground utilities, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, paving, concrete, or site development
  • Ability to read and understand civil drawings, specifications, scopes, schedules, and project documents
  • Strong understanding of field production, sequencing, cost control, and project coordination
  • Experience working with owners, developers, engineers, municipalities, GCs, subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Procore, HCSS, Heavy Bid, Agtek, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software experience is a plus
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required with strong hands‑on experience
  • $95K–$130K+ base salary, dependent on experience
  • Performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, depending on level
  • Fuel card or mileage support
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Long-term growth opportunity within a busy Central Ohio civil construction market
Ideal Background

The ideal candidate will come from a civil contractor, sitework contractor, excavation company, utility contractor, paving contractor, or self‑performing construction group with experience managing civil site development projects.

This role is especially well‑suited for someone who understands both the office and field side of civil construction and can help drive projects forward through strong planning, communication, and execution.
