Superintendent Commercial and Industrial

Our client, a respected Midwest General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee major construction projects throughout the Greater Columbus area.

This role will manage day-to-day site operations across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, education, hospitality, and institutional developments.

• Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through completion and closeout
• Manage subcontractors, field teams, site logistics, safety, quality, and project schedules
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and potential project risks
• Conduct daily site meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and progress updates
• Monitor short-term schedules, manpower, materials, deliveries, inspections, and project milestones
• Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Manage RFIs, field documentation, punch lists, inspections, and project closeout
• Support preconstruction planning, site logistics, sequencing, and subcontractor selection where required
• Mentor Assistant Superintendents and other field team members

• Proven experience as a Superintendent with a General Contractor
• Experience across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, education, hospitality, or institutional projects
• Strong experience managing ground‑up construction, renovations, occupied facilities, and phased projects
• Ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, site logistics, safety, and quality control
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, trade scopes, and sequencing
• Proficiency with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar software
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with the Greater Columbus construction market is preferred
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential
