A growing Columbus-area asphalt and concrete group is launching a dedicated curb division to support high-volume commercial, industrial, and subdivision work. We are looking for an experienced curb foreman/operator to help lead this division from the ground up.
This is not just a seat-filler position. We are looking for someone who understands curb production, slipform curb machines, concrete timing, stringline, finishing, quality control, and crew leadership. The right person will help build the crew, train laborers, establish production standards, and become a key leader in a new company with a strong pipeline of work.
Responsibilities Include- Operate and oversee slipform curb machine production.
- Lead daily curb and gutter installation operations.
- Work with layout and grade lead to confirm line, grade, elevations, and offsets.
- Coordinate concrete truck timing and communicate with ready-mix suppliers.
- Monitor concrete consistency, slump, vibration, mold performance, and finished product quality.
- Manage finishers and laborers during curb placement.
- Identify issues before they become production problems.
- Help train new crew members.
- Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and daily checks.
- Communicate with project managers, asphalt crews, inspectors, and general contractors.
- Track daily production, labor, material usage, and jobsite issues.
- Slipform curb machine experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with curb and gutter, barrier curb, straight curb, parking lot curb, subdivision curb, and commercial sitework.
- Ability to lead a crew and keep production moving.
- Ability to read plans and understand curb details.
- Experience working around asphalt, concrete, grading, stone base, and sitework.
- Understanding of concrete mix consistency and exterior curb finishing.
- Mechanical ability and willingness to maintain equipment.
Valid driver's license preferred. - Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work full construction days.
