Compensation: $33.00 - $50.00 Hourly

Job Summary: As the Buried Crew Foreman you will ultimately be responsible for managing underground utility construction crews, overseeing excavation and installation activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will coordinate field operations, manage subcontractors, and deliver underground construction projects efficiently and on schedule. As the Buried Crew Foreman, your customers are broadband operators, utility providers, and internal construction teams, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company’s success through leadership, operational efficiency, and safe project execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the daily activities of one to two underground construction crews
Operate and oversee heavy equipment and trucking for excavation, installation, and project completion
Continually inspect work sites for safety hazards and maintain compliance with OSHA, state, and federal regulations
Prepare material take-offs, aggregates, and project requirements for construction activities
Schedule and coordinate subcontractors to support project execution
Communicate effectively with local officials, company leadership, staff, and customers regarding project progress and requirements
Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs
Education, Licensing, and
Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid Driver’s License required
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in underground dry utility construction
Experience supervising field crews and managing underground utility projects
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and understand blueprints and project specifications for construction sequencing
Ability to operate backhoes, loaders, excavators, asphalt rollers, and other heavy equipment using CAT and DEERE controls
General knowledge of construction practices, equipment, and utility installation methods
Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work with crews, leadership, and customers
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to travel to and from job sites as needed
CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
OSHA certification preferred
English and Spanish bilingual skills preferred
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs., with occasional lifting up to 150 lbs.
Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and sit for extended periods
Ability to ascend and descend ladders
Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment
Must maintain visual and audible contact with crew members and equipment to ensure safe coordination
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review
