Commercial Project Supervisor
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Project Supervisor position in Columbus, Ohio. Our client is seeking candidates at both the Supervisor and Senior Supervisor levels, depending on qualifications. For eligible candidates interested in relocating to Columbus, relocation assistance is available.
This role offers the chance to grow within a well-established construction company specializing in commercial and industrial projects, such as schools, places of worship, and other non-residential buildings. Candidates must have experience in commercial construction, as residential background alone will not suffice.
The Project Supervisor will oversee projects from start to finish, collaborating closely with clients, on-site leaders, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, top-notch work completed on time and within budget.
Duties include:
- Lead commercial and industrial construction projects from inception to conclusion
- Act as a main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, on-site personnel, and internal management
- Create and manage project schedules, budgets, change requests, billing documents, and project archives
- Examine drawings, work scopes, contracts, specifications, and project needs
- Run project meetings, monitor progress, resolve issues, and keep stakeholders updated
- Evaluate subcontractor performance, job expenses, safety measures, quality control, and compliance
- Support, mentor, and coordinate project teams to enforce accountability and achieve goals
Requirements include:
- Hands-on experience in commercial or industrial construction project management
- Previous work with a commercial design-build contractor highly preferred
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Timberline/Sage preferred
- Thorough understanding of construction techniques, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation
- Ability to interpret and understand plans, specifications, scopes, and contracts
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Degree in construction management, engineering, civil engineering, or related field desirable
