Why This Opportunity?Join a mechanical contractor supporting construction activities on the North Market Tower project in downtown Columbus, OH. This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety operations for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system installations while supporting a major commercial construction project.
The selected candidate will work closely with field supervision and craft personnel to ensure safe execution of mechanical construction activities while helping maintain a strong safety culture throughout the project.
Required Qualificationsβ OSHA 510 Certification
β 3+ years of construction safety experience
Preferred Qualificationsβ HVAC construction experience
β Plumbing construction experience
β Fire protection construction experience
β High-rise or commercial construction experience
β CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
What You'll Be Doing- Oversee daily safety activities for mechanical construction operations
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection installation activities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
- Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
- Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training as needed
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
- Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
- Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
- Monitor material handling activities, elevated work, and contractor safety compliance
- Promote a positive safety culture across the project
