Elford Construction is growing, and we’re looking for an
Assistant Project Manager who wants to be part of building meaningful projects and growing their career in commercial construction. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers and field leaders while gaining hands‑on experience across the full lifecycle of a project—from preconstruction planning through project closeout.
The
Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Project Managers and field leadership in the successful delivery of construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. This role helps coordinate project documentation, scheduling, subcontractor communication, and financial tracking to keep projects moving forward efficiently.
- Assist Project Managerswithplanning ,scheduling,andbudgetingactivitiesduringpreconstructionandprojectstartup
- CoordinateandtrackRFIs,submittals,shop drawings,andotherkeyprojectdocumentation
- MaintainprojectlogsincludingRFIlogs,submittallogs,andbulletinupdates
- Assistwithcoordinationofmaterials,subcontractors,andlaborrequirements
- Supportchangeorderdocumentation,pricingcoordination,and approvals
- UpdateandmaintaincontractdrawingsbasedonRFIs,ASIs,bulletins,andproposalrequests
- Coordinateinformationrequiredforinstallationofowner-furnishedequipment
- Reviewsubcontractorandvendorinvoicesandassistwithprojectcostdocumentation
- Maintainprojectschedulesandsupportprojectreporting
- Buildandmaintainstrongworkingrelationshipswithsubcontractors,suppliers,andinternalteams
- Assist with project closeout including as‑built drawings and final documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry (internships or co-ops considered)
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Proficiency with construction documentation and computer-based project tools
- Willingness to travel as project needs require
