Mission Critical Construction Manager
Columbus, OH
Position Overview
Our client supports live retrofit and upgrade work inside AWS data centers, with current projects focused heavily on cooling systems, power distribution controls, and broader MEP scopes.
The Construction Manager leads day‑to‑day field execution, including subcontractor and GC crews, safety, quality, schedule, site coordination, and work performed inside active critical environments.
Day-to-Day
- Start early onsite and coordinate the day's construction activities with subcontractors, GCs, and trade crews
- Review work plans, safety requirements, MOPs, and site access before work begins
- Walk the site, monitor progress, and make sure work is completed safely, correctly, and on schedule
- Coordinate MEP scopes across electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and related trades
- Work closely with facility teams to avoid impacting live operations
- Resolve field issues and escape risks before they impact schedule or uptime
- Track progress, quality, documentation, and closeout items
In simple terms: this person is the onsite leader making sure crews performing retrofit work inside a live data center are coordinated, safe, on schedule, and not disrupting the facility.

- Ability and willingness to travel
Strongly Preferred
- Prior hyperscale or live data center construction experience
- Familiarity with AWS security, badging, access, and operational procedures
