Job Overview
Valet Traffic Coordinator – OSU Wexner Medical Center. The Traffic Coordinator directs vehicular traffic and provides exceptional hospitality services, including issuing valet parking tickets, retrieving guest vehicles, and assisting guests with luggage. The role requires a friendly, professional demeanor and strict adherence to site parking policies.
Job DetailsStarting pay: $16 – $18 per hour. Weekdays and some weekends, day shift (6am – 8pm). Benefits include accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine benefits, and a 401k retirement savings plan. Seasonal and temporary roles do not qualify for these benefits.
Responsibilities- Direct vehicular traffic and provide attentive, friendly service to all patients and guests.
- Issue valet parking tickets while ensuring compliance with mystery shop standards.
- Assist guests with directions, concierge inquiries, and luggage delivery and pickup.
- Maintain accurate parking records, claim checks, and guest folio archives.
- Follow parking policy and procedures and retrieve and park guest vehicles safely and efficiently.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18.
- One to three months of related experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of traffic and valet procedures.
- Ability to read and write standard English, comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and perform basic mathematics (add/subtract up to three digits, multiply/divide using 10s and 100s, use American money, weight, volume, and distance measurements).
- Customer service and registration/computer experience preferred.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle and perform parallel parking.
The role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. The employee may travel up to 5% of the time. Duties include talk or hear, sit or stand for extended periods, operate tools and controls, and meet specific vision requirements.
