Landlord Relations Specialist

Location: Columbus, OH, United States

Salary Range: $58,000.00 to $60,600.00 Annually

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
  • Assist Landlord Relations Supervisor in receiving and responding to landlord inquiries, mediating between landlords and tenants concerning procedures and HUD policy as needed, and serving as a spokesperson for the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Conduct landlord briefings and recruit prospective landlords as needed.
  • Assist Landlord Relations Supervisor with inquiries pertaining to change of ownership, new vendor registrations, vendor address/phone changes, ACH/EDS registration, management/POA/guardian changes, landlord W‑9 verifications, and vendor questions/concerns. Manage the HCV Landlord Email account and all general inquiries.
  • Provide leadership support, train new employees, and oversee the work quality of the Contracts Department.
  • Meet all job safety requirements and applicable OSHA safety standards related to essential functions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, coworkers, and external parties.
  • Prepare clear and concise narrative and statistical reports, using tact and diplomacy, yet firmness.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work remotely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Must be able to work independently; must have strong written and oral communication skills; ability to engage a wide variety of people with a high level of professionalism and courtesy; must be able to work effectively in sometimes hostile environments; must be able to deescalate situations of conflict; present a professional image as a representative of CMHA; follow agency/department goals, objectives, policies, procedures, personnel rules, regulations;

    update and report to management on state of Franklin County rental market; general knowledge of local geographical area; strong English grammar and spelling.

    SKILL SET
    • Word processing; computer operation; use of modern office equipment; preparing presentations; project management; community relations.
    • Attention to detail; interpret instructions in written, oral, picture, or schedule form.
    • Determine specific actions, navigate landlords through CMHA housing procedures according to HUD regulations and CMHA administrative plan.
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions; exercise independent judgment and discretion.
    • Understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, or regulations to specific situations.
    • Record keeping: read, copy, and record figures accurately; complete forms; prepare correspondence; compile and prepare reports; respond to inquiries from public and/or officials.
    • Communicate effectively; maintain records according to established procedures; resolve complaints; travel to different locations as needed; think logically; present results with clarity.
    • Multi-task; design and maintain databases; define business requirements and organizational goals to build equity within the metropolitan area and strengthen client relationships.
