Job Purpose:

To provide exceptional customer service and parking assistance to guests visiting the downtown area, ensuring a smooth and positive parking experience. This role involves managing parking facilities, directing traffic, assisting with payments and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The Guest Ambassador will act as a helpful and informative resource for visitors, contributing to a welcoming and efficient downtown parking system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome guests arriving at the downtown parking facilities, providing clear and concise directions to available parking spaces.
  • Monitor parking lot traffic flow, ensuring smooth and efficient vehicle movement and addressing any congestion or safety concerns.
  • Assist guests with parking payment procedures, including operating automated payment machines and troubleshooting any payment issues.
  • Provide information and assistance to guests regarding downtown businesses and services, acting as a knowledgeable resource for visitors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the parking facilities, including litter removal and reporting any maintenance or safety hazards.
  • Enforce parking regulations and address any violations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively, striving to resolve any issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide support to other parking staff and collaborate to maintain a cohesive and efficient parking operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of parking transactions and activity, reporting any discrepancies or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Stay informed about downtown events and activities to anticipate parking demands and provide proactive assistance to guests.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and customer service standards.

Qualifications:

Required

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service-oriented role, preferably in a parking or hospitality environment.
  • Experience handling credit card transactions.
  • Experience operating parking equipment such as gates and ticket dispensers (preferred).

Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse range of customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive and helpful attitude in all interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately handle credit card transactions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints and difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills (preferred).
  • Knowledge of local area and parking regulations (preferred).
