Overview
Nationwide Children's Hospital seeks a clinically oriented and compassionate pediatric dentist to join our Division of Dentistry. The position offers flexibility to hire full‑time equivalent status between 0.2 and 0.6. The attending will provide direct patient care in multiple clinical settings, with a focus on treating children and adolescents at the new KIPP Columbus Wellness Center opening fall of 2025.
The position offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. Nationwide Children’s Hospital is a designated National Health Service Corps site with a Health Professional Shortage Area score of 19 for Community Dentistry and 21 for the Department of Dentistry.
Job Description SummaryExamines, diagnoses, and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.
Essential Functions- Examines patients’ teeth and gums to diagnose dental conditions and plan appropriate treatments.
- Cleans teeth, removes plaque, and applies fluoride treatments.
- Repairs or extracts decayed or damaged teeth, fills cavities, and fits crowns or bridges.
- Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and recommends dental care products.
- Keeps accurate records of patients’ dental history, treatment plans, and progress.
- Manages and supervises dental assistants and hygienists to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
DDS/DMD degree or international equivalent, required.
Licensure RequirementDental license in the State of Ohio, required.
Certifications- Certificate from a CODA‑accredited advanced education program in pediatric dentistry, required.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality and collaboration among members of the division and the hospital.
- Genuine willingness to put the safety and needs of the child first in a culturally diverse clinical care setting.
