About us

Contract Source is a commercial furniture dealership. We have been designing, sourcing, and installing furniture and interiors since 1989 - 37 years of it. Our clients are colleges, senior living communities, churches, libraries, career centers, hospitals, government offices, affordable housing developments, and businesses.

We are independent and owner-involved, which means the people who make decisions here know your name.

The role

We are hiring an Interior Designer & Sales Coordinator in Columbus. You would work with Brittany, who runs that market, helping her grow it in senior living, churches, commercial offices, and affordable housing.

This is a good first job in commercial interiors. You do not need experience in the industry. We will teach you the products, our systems, and how projects actually run.

Our values

Three words, and we mean them.

Humble - you share credit, take feedback, and help the person next to you.

Hungry - you take initiative, ask questions, and want to get better.

Smart - you read people well and communicate clearly, with clients and with us.

What you would do Design
  • Furniture layouts and space plans, in 2D and 3D
  • Help clients pick furniture, finishes, and fabrics
  • Build presentation boards and put client presentations together
  • Research products that fit what a client needs and what they can spend
Quotes and orders
  • Put together furniture quotes and proposals
  • Enter orders in our system and through manufacturer portals
  • Check order confirmations against what we ordered, and fix what does not match
  • Handle changes and substitutions when a project shifts
  • Keep project files organized
Projects
  • Track several projects at once, each at a different stage
  • Help schedule deliveries and installations
  • Tell people where things stand before they have to ask
  • Flag problems early, while they are still small
  • Help close projects out, including the final punch list of touch-ups
Growing Columbus
  • Join client meetings, presentations, and site visits with Brittany
  • Follow up with clients and keep those relationships warm
  • Help find and pursue new work in the Columbus market
  • Sit in on manufacturer trainings and market meetings
What we will teach you

You should come in knowing your way around design software. You do not need to know our specific setup. Someone from our team will train you on CET Designer the way we use it,
Core for quotes and projects, and Hub Spot for client records.

What you need
  • One to two years in interior design, commercial design, furniture, or architecture is nice to have. It is not required, and recent graduates are welcome.
  • A degree in interior design or something related is preferred. Real interest counts for a lot.
  • Genuine interest in commercial interiors and furniture
  • A decent working knowledge of design software. AutoCAD, CET Designer, Revit, Sketch Up, or Adobe - school projects count. We will take you the rest of the way.
  • Solid Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Clear writing and speaking, and you like working with people
  • Organized, accurate, and dependable
  • Goal driven, with real interest in the sales side of this work
  • Based in the Columbus area
  • Reliable transportation and reliable internet at home
  • Willing to travel around Ohio two to three times a month
How the job works

Full-time, based in Columbus. You would work mostly from home, with travel around Ohio two to three times a month for client meetings, site visits, manufacturer showrooms, and occasional days at our main office.

The work is mostly at a desk and on a computer, with some standing and walking on site visits. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. We are glad to make reasonable accommodations.

Compensation and benefits

Compensation is competitive and based on experience and qualifications.

Contract Source offers eligible full-time employees a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
