Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic general obstetrician-gynecologist to join the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Academic rank and track are commensurate with the candidate’s academic record and experience. The department seeks a full-time faculty member who will contribute to resident and medical student education as well as direct patient care in an academic center.

Ideal candidates are board-certified or eligible physicians who supervise resident continuity clinics, gynecologic teaching services, and in-hospital gynecologic consultations. The division maintains an active faculty practice at five outpatient sites and one labor and delivery facility. Faculty expertise includes minimally invasive surgery, family planning, vulvar disease, menopause, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, and breastfeeding. The OSU Wexner Medical Center is a state-of-the-art tertiary care center with ongoing facility expansion.

• Provide direct patient care as part of an academic center.
• supervise resident continuity clinics and gynecologic teaching services.
• Provide in-hospital gynecologic consultation.
• participate in medical student education and resident education activities.
• Contribute to the division’s faculty practice across multiple outpatient sites and the labor and delivery facility.

• MD or DO or equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited residency training program
• Obtain licensure from the State of Ohio Medical Board
• Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Clinical faculty (any rank) are appointed for terms of three to five years and focus on clinical care, teaching, and/or research without tenure. Tenure-track faculty (any rank) focus on research, teaching, and service, and may be involved in clinical care. Research faculty focus on research with appointments for one to five years and are not tenure eligible.
