Overview
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a general surgeon with focus on complex abdominal wall surgery and hernia repair to join the Department of Surgery. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. The Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery within the Department of Surgery invites a General Surgeon to join its elite team. The candidate will take an active role in the Center for Abdominal Core Health, caring for patients with simple and complex abdominal wall issues. The candidate should have a record of success in basic/translation science, health services research, or clinical trials.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will: perform a high volume of operations at Ohio State’s Ambulatory/Outpatient Surgery Centers and participate in clinical, translational, or health services research as appropriate to academic rank. The role includes patient care, teaching, and contribution to program development within the Center for Abdominal Core Health.
Qualifications- Board Certified in General Surgery
- Successful completion of a General Surgery Fellowship with focus on Abdominal Wall Surgery
- Academic experience highly desired
- Eligible for State of Ohio medical licensure
- Qualify for academic appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level – Academic rank and salary commensurate with prior training and experience
