The Department of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center‑Comprehensive Cancer Center‑Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Institute (OSUCCC)
James) is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to function as Clinical Director. The OSUCCC‑James is the 3rd largest cancer hospital in the U.S. and the first U.S. Medical Department to host a visit by a sitting U.S. President. The OSUCCC‑James is the only nationally ranked academic medical enter to be an NCI‑designated Comprehensive Cancer Center since 1976 and is one of 11 freestanding cancer hospitals.

The Clinical Director reports directly through the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations to the Chair for the Department of Radiation Oncology. The Clinical Director will have oversight responsibility of all activities associated with the Radiation Oncology Department, including, but not limited to the oversight of the main campus and breast center clinical services, quality of care, resource utilization, protocol and practice guideline development and review, and assuring that the education and training of the Residents and Fellows in radiation oncology is commensurate with their activity and trainees are provided proper supervision.
In addition, the Clinical Director will assure that the program meets the accreditation and regulatory standards of the Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and any other governmental accrediting or regulatory bodies as may be appropriate, while fostering collaboration across clinical, research, and administrative teams. This position also represents the department in institutional and external engagements and drives initiatives to advance patient outcomes, faculty development, and program excellence.
In the role as Physician‑Clinical, they will provide licensed medical care including diagnosis, treatment (inclusive of surgery or pre/post‑surgical care where appropriate), case management and clinical research. The Physician manages complex and sometimes unpredictable situations. The Physician must be competent in technical, clinical and surgical skills (where appropriate), cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving the above‑mentioned services.
The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physician’s standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.
