The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Wexner Medical Center seek an exceptional Functional Medicine Physician to join our Center for Integrative Health, practice functional medicine medicine, and lead the development of an innovative integrative primary care service line. The Center for Integrative Health’s vision for this new service line is to strengthen collaborations with specialties, including, but not limited to, Oncology, Long COVID, Women’s Health, Neurology, etc.
This is a hybrid role combining clinical practice with strategic administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will take a patient-centered, individualized, and science-based approach to address the root causes of chronic disease rather than managing isolated symptoms. This role combines 60% clinical practice with 40% strategic administrative responsibilities.

Our multidisciplinary team provides a comprehensive suite of integrative services, including acupuncture, chiropractic care, functional and lifestyle medicine, integrative nutrition, osteopathic manipulative treatment, mind-body medicine, massage therapy, and personalized wellness consultations. These services are grounded in scientific evidence and designed to work in partnership with traditional medical care to address the physical, emotional, and behavioral contributors to health.
In addition to clinical care, the Center for Integrative Health plays a vital role in education and innovation. The program trains medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing clinicians in integrative health principles. It actively collaborates with campus and community partners to promote preventive care and research-driven wellness initiatives. Flagship programs, such as Mindfulness in Motion, reflect the Center’s commitment to developing scalable interventions that improve patient outcomes, reduce stress, and enhance overall resilience.

Position Overview Clinical ResponsibilitiesThe clinical component (60%) focuses on direct patient care and comprehensive health management. Responsibilities of this component include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct through patient evaluations, including detailed health histories, physical examinations, and advanced diagnostic testing to assess overall health status and identify underlying causes of disease.
- Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that integrate conventional medicine with complementary approaches such as nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep optimization, and lifestyle modification.
- Diagnose and manage patients with chronic illnesses, including heart disease, metabolic disorders, autoimmune conditions, and other complex health issues.
- Provide patient education regarding their conditions and treatment options, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their health.
- Adapt treatment plans based on individual patient needs, goals, and response to interventions, demonstrating flexibility in clinical decision-making.
- Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date patient records to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers and clinical support staff to deliver integrated, coordinated care.
