DepartmentThe Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek clinician scientists to join the Department of Emergency Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

The mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine is to provide innovative, efficient, safe, and compassionate patient care to patients presenting to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Emergency Departments and Advanced Urgent Cares; to be a leader in education of medical students, residents, and fellows in emergency medical care;
to perform cutting‑edge research and scholarly investigation to identify the causes, treatments, and prevention of emergency medical conditions; to promote transforming emergency medicine through innovation, faculty development, and excellence. We are seeking emergency physician clinician scientists with expertise in emergency care. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our scientists to advance the research mission of the department.
Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with individuals within and outside the department to conduct research in emergency care.
- Publish results in peer‑reviewed scientific journals and pursue and maintain NIH or other equivalent extramural funding.
- Contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits, and represent the program or department in committees, conferences, professional meetings, and community speaking engagements.
- Perform clinical duties at OSUWMC emergency departments and advanced urgent cares as assigned, practicing within the established Medical Center policies and standards of practice.
- Adhere to key result areas of the Medical Center.
- Doctoral degree in medicine. Residency training and board certified in Emergency Medicine.
- Licensed or license‑eligible in the state of Ohio.
- Additional graduate level research training (Master's or Doctorate level) highly desirable.
- Scientific expertise in emergency care required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience and substantial scientific publication record.
- National recognition and NIH or equivalent extramural funding highly desirable.
