Physician - Primary Care

The Columbus VA Medical Center is recruiting a Physician within Primary Care Service. This position requires experienced designated Women's Health Care.

Assess patient health status through exam and history, conduct screenings, and identify risks/needs. Diagnose on clinical findings, and develop treatment plan. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure the treatment plan is followed. Assess, diagnose, monitor, and promote the needs of women's health, including but not limited to: well‑woman exams, breast mass assessment, incontinence, fertility/contraception, prenatal/postpartum care.

• Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
• Paid Time Off: 50–55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, plus up to 5 days paid absence for CME)
• Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5‑year vesting) and federal 401(k) with up to 5% employer contribution
• Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long‑term care (many federal plans transferable to retirement)
• Licensure: One full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory
• CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (full‑time with board certification required)
• Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
• Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student‑loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit the EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office after review of the application.

Monday to Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM;
Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Tour of duty will be based on the needs of the service. Additional details will be provided during the interview.
