Job Title: Physician – Clinical Faculty, Infectious Diseases - Solid Organ Transplant Specialist (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Department: The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center

Position Overview

The Division of Infectious Diseases is looking for an Infectious Diseases specialist with interest and/or expertise in solid organ transplant (SOT). The physician will provide consultative services in the Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC), contribute to research, and participate in teaching and scholarly activities. The role includes maintaining a dedicated SOT‑only ambulatory care clinic, training fellows, house staff, medical students, and allied medical professionals, and serving on relevant committees.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • This is an academic position on the clinical track that emphasizes diagnosis and treatment of infections in SOT.
  • Respond to consultation requests; determine, prescribe, and implement treatment plans and/or required medications.
  • Provide instructional training to fellows, house staff, medical students, and ancillary staff.
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities.
Requirements
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Diseases.
  • Training or experience in Transplant Infectious Diseases is highly desired.
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
