Position Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Infectious Diseases physician to join the Division of Infectious Diseases/Department of Internal Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

The Division of Infectious Diseases is actively recruiting an Infectious Diseases specialist with interest and/or expertise in solid organ transplant (SOT). This position will provide infectious diseases consultative services in the Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC), one of the top 20 transplant programs in the United States, performing approximately 600 solid organ transplants each year.

The physician will join two experienced SOT attendings, maintain a dedicated SOT-only ambulatory care clinic, train fellows, house staff, medical students, and allied health professionals, and participate in scholarly activities (clinical research, quality improvement) and committee work.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • A clinical track emphasizing diagnosis and treatment of infections in SOT.
  • Respond to consultation requests; determine, prescribe, and implement treatment plans and/or required medications.
  • Provide instructional training to fellows, house staff, medical students, and ancillary staff.
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities.
Requirements
  • MD, DO or equivalent.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Diseases.
  • Training or experience in Transplant Infectious Diseases preferred.
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
