The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Division of Nephrology seeks a fellowship-trained transplant nephrologist to join 6 full-time transplant nephrologists and support its growing multi-organ transplant programs.

This multi-organ transplant program is one of the largest in the country, having performed over 14,000 transplants and over 300 kidney and pancreas transplants annually.

The Nephrology Division provides comprehensive care for a large CKD population and transplant patients. It also has an extensive consultative nephrology practice. Additionally, the Division conducts basic science, translational, and clinical research and teaches medical students, house officers, and fellows. A variety of academic/career paths are available that can be tailored to a candidate’s area of interest.

The Nephrology Division is one of fourteen divisions in the Department of Internal Medicine. The Nephrology Division is part of The OSUWMC, including University Hospitals, The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, and The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

• Successful completion of a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Eligible for a State of Ohio medical license
• Qualify for an academic appointment at the assistant or associate professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience

Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) orother terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their primary career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, which may also include teaching and/or research.

Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate(PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO, or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.

Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate(PhD) or other terminal degree inthe relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms ofone to five years. Their principal career focus is research.
