Open Rank Faculty Positions – Department of Physiology & Cell Biology
The Department of Physiology & Cell Biology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine is initiating an open‑rank search for outstanding scientists for tenure‑track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels. The department offers a collaborative research and educational environment with strengths in cell signaling, cytoskeletal actin/myosin function, regulation of ion fluxes, striated muscle structure and function, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic function, inflammation, and regulation of lung pathobiology.
Excellent candidates in areas related to skeletal muscle, pulmonary or cardiac physiology will be considered.
- Ph.D., D.V.M. and/or M.D. degree.
- Commitment to basic and/or translational research with a strong history of scholarly productivity and evidence of potential to maintain an externally funded, independent research program.
- Current extramural funding (e.g., transition to faculty grants) or established investigators with existing funding.
- Ability to establish or maintain innovative independent research programs and develop collaborative areas of focus with existing programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with teaching experience; excellence in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and professional student level is a priority.
