Columbus School for Girls seeks to hire an energetic and creative full-time Middle School Science Teacher to begin in the academic year. Major Functions and Responsibilities- Teach a range of middle school science classes for grades 6, 7, and 8, including life, earth, space, and physical sciences.
- Lead an advisory group.
- Participate actively in the life of the school, including leading clubs and/or activities, chaperoning school trips (including an overnight trip), and possibly coaching
- Potential leadership responsibilities such as Advisory, Club or Affinity/Alliance Groups, and roles such as Form Level Dean, Department Chair, or Center Director.

- A student-centered educator who emphasizes inquiry, innovation and balances the importance of depth and breadth of knowledge.
- Provides active learning experiences, supports student’s intellectual curiosity, creates a secure environment to support learning, and assists students with their growing independence.
- Dedicated to motivating and inspiring students to achieve their highest potential; and building strong home and school partnerships.
- An individual with a growth mindset, and a joy and passion for learning and education.

- Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment, agility and the capacity to pivot as needed.
- Committed to improving their practice through peer observation and professional development.
- Possesses facility with academic technology, excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- High emotional intelligence, strong cultural competence and a demonstrated belief in the value of a diverse and multicultural community.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Ability to teach a scope of different levels (standard, advanced, honors).
- Strong candidates will have at least three years of experience teaching.
