The Adjunct - Nursing (Practical Nursing) position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students. The role provides instruction and monitors teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department Chair or other leadership members. The incumbent must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while engaging large groups of people with complicated material.

• Teach assigned courses as scheduled.
• Design curriculum embracing diversity, in all forms, to foster talent in students while modeling inclusive teaching strategies, and understanding socio-cultural issues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
• Consider individual differences of students to design and support appropriate learning activities.
• Participate in identifying students with academic or other needs and respond by utilizing appropriate resources.
• Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations concerning its use.
• Keep accurate and appropriate records in accordance with departmental policies.
• Maintain attendance records, determine and submit grades timely, and communicate progress feedback throughout the semester.
• Distribute and maintain accurate syllabi incorporating departmental, college, cross‑college, and instructor requirements.
• Conduct classes punctually in accordance with the prescribed meeting schedule; employ assessment techniques to measure student performance.
• Engage in periodic meetings with department, lead instructor, and chairperson regarding teaching duties and professional development.

• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active and collaborative learning, student effort, academic challenge, and interaction.
• Use technology to assist communication with students; encourage a sense of community inside and outside the classroom.
• Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.

• Foster and maintain a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and community members.

• Compensation: $55.88 per contact hour.
• Contact Hour:
  Two hours equals one contact hour.

  Maximum of 12 contact hours per week.

• Associate's degree in Nursing.
• At least 2 years of experience in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.

• Current Ohio RN Licensure in good standing.
• State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Prior teaching experience.
