Education

(Responsibilities)
  • Develops and refines processes for monitoring compliance, performance, and disproportionality indicators;
  • Develops and refines indicator monitoring documents, including but not limited to, internal and external monitoring manuals, record review tools, communication guides, and clearance letters;
  • Collaborates with the Data Team to determine required actions and federal requirements for flagged districts and establishes deadlines for district notifications;
  • Develops and reviews Self-Review Summary Reports (SRSRs) and Improvement Plan documents;
  • Prepares and disseminates communications to districts as a result of initial notices, record reviews, data appeals, review decisions;
  • Assists in the development, quality checks, and maintenance of the Monitoring and Tracking System;
  • Reviews indicator data and results;
  • Provides technical assistance and support to stakeholders and districts for accessing and use of the Monitoring and Tracking System;
  • Provides cross agency consultation with offices in the Department to ensure consistency of processes (Early Learning and School Readiness, Assessment, Integrated Student Supports, etc.);
  • Consults with sections within the Office for Exceptional Children (e.g., Resource Management, Urban, Data, etc.) to ensure consistency of processes;
  • Consults with members of the Supports and Monitoring section regarding compliance/monitoring reviews;
  • Reviews indicator records and prepares reports regarding Indicators 9 and 10 (Disproportionality in the identification for Special Education);
  • Serves as a standing team member with the Indicator 8 Parent Involvement survey team;
  • Services as a standing team member with the Indicator 14 Ohio Longitudinal Transition Survey (OLTS);
  • Assists in data collection and data reporting in order to meet federal reporting timelines;
  • Prepares federal, state and local reports;
Builds Capacity Within The State System Of Supports By
  • Designing and delivering professional development and technical assistance;
  • Assisting in the design and management of projects related to improving progress for all students;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Unusual Working Conditions

Requires travel throughout State of Ohio & may require overnight stay. Must be willing & able to secure a valid Driver’s License OR supply your own transportation.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Teaching and/or administrative experience in special education instruction and procedures as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Implementing school improvement processes (e.g., analyzing data, project management, improvement planning, progress monitoring).
