Position Summary and Responsibilities

Working from your home in Ohio, a certified Teacher will manage Career Tech Industrial credential programs. Through use of the telephone, Internet, and various curriculum tools they will consult consistently with learning coaches and students to ensure that each child successfully completes his/her industry credential program.

  • Assist program teacher with student based Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO)
  • Complete all grading, test proctoring, track student performance data, analyze progress measures and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner;
  • Support the industry credential programs with asynchronous web conferencing sessions;
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents, students and other teachers/administration on a regular basis to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, score assessments, provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional approaches and strategies, monitor completion of assignments and coach special projects;
  • Develop a general knowledge of the entire program’s K-12 curriculum and a very detailed knowledge of the courses for which responsible; including holding certification for each credential.
  • Design and develop targeted, data-driven instructional materials to strengthen student readiness and increase successful completion of industry credentials, and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects;
  • Proactively and consistently communicate with students, parents, and staff to ensure awareness of program expectations, monitor progress toward multiple deadlines, and provide timely support through use of computer and telephone;
  • Keep student records and data up-to-date, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, state reporting records, and logging all student and parent contacts;
  • Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community”;
  • Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts that require teacher representation;
  • Work with staff and School counselors to ensure students and families are receiving appropriate communications, students are making adequate progress and established goals are being met;
  • Attend and participate in advisory board meetings;
  • Collaborate directly with industry vendors to complete student registrations, obtain student files, and retrieve required performance data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance;
  • Evaluate programs and offerings to ensure alignment with current state laws, workforce trends, and graduation requirements, making recommendations for updates and continuous improvement;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Highly qualified to teach in Ohio (appropriate to grade level and content area responsibilities).
  • Appropriate industry credentials obtained or willingness to obtain required credentials within a specified time frame. Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs) and the ability to guide and support students in effectively using various learning programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Conduct outreach to students and parents to ensure program deadlines are met and students are successful.
  • Customer focused approach.
  • High degree of flexibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment.
  • Team player track record.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel).
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families.
