The successful candidate will play a critical role in teaching and course development within the Center for Aviation Studies, contributing directly to the continued growth of Ohio State Aviation’s professional pilot curriculum. Instruction will emphasize gas‑turbine–powered aircraft and the operational, systems, and crew coordination challenges inherent in multi-pilot jet operations, providing students with a strong foundation aligned with contemporary airline and corporate aviation practices.

The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to teach Part 141 ground schools throughout the academic year to include summer.
* Current CFI (with instrument rating) or an AGI/IGI (Advanced Ground Instructor/Instrument Ground Instructor) rating
* Master’s degree in aviation or a closely-related discipline.
* Professional approach to development of SOPs and workflows.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.

- Valid FAA ATP/CTP certificate (or military equivalent) with at least 10-years experience in industry as a line pilot, standards check airman, or simulator instructor.
* ** Teaching Experience**:
Teaching experience or training is desirable, as well as higher education teaching experience with experience in course development.
* ** Communication Skills**:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, with a focus on working constructively, decisively, and collegially with both external and internal colleagues and teams.
* ** Independence and Initiative**:
We value individuals who can work independently and are proactive self-starters with strong project leadership skills.
* ** Innovative Thinking**:
The candidate should be open to sharing ideas, continuously learning, and displaying innovative thinking.

- ** Leadership and Collaboration**:
The candidate should demonstrate leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively in an academic setting, with a primary focus on teaching.  Instruction in a flight simulation environment is a plus.

The final offer for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Salary is negotiated by the center director and may vary depending on individual circumstances.
