Position: Teacher on Special Assignment Supporting Gifted Services (TOSA)
Reports to: Gifted Coordinator
Employment Status: Regular /Full-time or Part-time

Description: The coordination of gifted services involves supporting the district's overall vision and mission, enhancing the effectiveness of gifted education programs, and ensuring accurate and accessible documentation for parents and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Education or related field
- K-12 Gifted Intervention Specialist Endorsement
- At least three years of certified teaching experience at the elementary or middle school grade levels
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Effective, active listening skills
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of gifted intervention best practices
- Knowledge of curriculum and successful teaching strategies
- Knowledge of child development and modes of learning
Essential Functions:
- Update gifted documents for staff, gifted intervention specialist, parents, district website, and school psychologists
- Create class rosters for elementary and middle school gifted intervention specialists using Power School data exports
- Order instructional supplies and renew software programs that support gifted intervention specialists and their students
- Update the district gifted identification and services plan for ODE
- Create rosters with appropriate EMIS codes for all gifted-served students and share with the EMIS coordinator
- Including for all Honors, AP, IB, Science of Robotics, Engineering Pathway, and CCP teachers based at the middle schools, UAHS, and Online Academy
- Including the list of OSU Academy and CSCC students who have gifted IDs matching the CCP courses they are taking.
- Flag all students who are gifted-served in Power School
- Create WEPs for all district students who are gifted-served.
- Work with the EMIS coordinator to ensure every student who is in the first year of acceleration is identified and marked appropriately in Power School
- Analyze ACT scores for new IDs and services and create WEPs as needed
- Work closely with the Director of Data and Accountability to plan for gifted retesting
- Analyze standardized scores for new IDs and services, and ensure new WEPs are created, and Track parent signatures
- Confirm gifted attendance in My Learning Plan for all gifted PD activities
- Assist in the planning, creation, implementation, and monitoring of professional development for both gifted intervention specialists and general education teachers
- Read new research about best practices in gifted education
- Support school improvement programs and ideas

- Frequently move and position oneself as necessary to access and operate equipment
- Frequently move around the workspace and travel throughout the school building
