Eligibility- Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) – persons with titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor, and instructor, serving on appointments totaling 50% or more of service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or have obtained tenure. Duties include research, service, and/or teaching or clinical practice.
- Clinical faculty – persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, and professor-clinical. Not eligible for tenure, appointed for 3–5 year terms, focus on clinical care, may include teaching and research.
- Research faculty – persons with titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. Not eligible for tenure, appointed for 1–5 year terms, focus on research.
The Department of Physiology & Cell Biology is conducting an open rank search for tenure‑track faculty at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. The department has strengths in cell signaling, cytoskeletal actin/myosin function, regulation of ion fluxes, striated muscle structure and function, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic function, inflammation, and regulation of lung pathobiology. Candidates in skeletal muscle, pulmonary, or cardiac physiology will be considered.
Minimum Requirements- Ph.D., D.V.M., and/or M.D. degree.
- Commitment to basic and/or translational research.
- Strong scholarly record and evidence of potential to maintain an externally funded, independent research program.
- Evidence of current extramural funding such as transition grants or existing investigator funding.
- Ability to develop innovative independent research programs and collaborate with existing programs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and preferred teaching experience.
- Excellence in teaching at undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Research experience description (up to one page).
- Statement on planned independent research program (up to two pages).
- Letters of reference and additional materials may be requested.
