Middle School Physical Education Teacher

• Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of formal sports, games, dances, and fundamentals of body movement.
• Develops lesson plans to guide instruction and student outcomes
• Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas
• Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment to ensure the overall safety of students
• Evaluates academic and social growth of students and keeps appropriate records to include attendance and assignment/assessment grades
• Communicates with parents on student progress
• Supervises students in out of classroom activities during the assigned working day
• Coaches, instructs and counsels each student regarding his/her academic, behavioral and social emotional progress
• Works collaboratively with other instructors to construct and maintain a high-quality integrated learning environment
• Collects, analyzes, and utilizes assessment data to identify students  immediate & long-range needs to develop lesson plans for assignments & activities that meet and extend student learning opportunities
• Facilitates learning beyond the school day through office hours
• Transparency and willingness to share best practices
• Play multiple roles beyond the classroom including student recruitment and admissions, new program development, communication with multiple districts, partnership development with outside organizations, and collaboration with other center initiatives
• Provides services that implement the educational mission and follows all institutional policies of Metro Early College Middle School
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal

• Minimum Qualifications: Teaching licensure for the State of Ohio or the ability to obtain substitute licensure for the State of Ohio
