Position SummaryThe Coordinator of Teaching & Learning provides visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure high-quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices across PreK-12 classrooms. This position supports the continuous improvement of teaching and learning in alignment with the District's mission, strategic priorities, and Portrait of a Learner. The Coordinator works collaboratively with building leaders, teachers, instructional coaches, and central office administrators to strengthen instructional practices, improve student achievement, and ensure equitable outcomes for all learners.
Reports To:
Director of Teaching & Learning
- Lead the design, development, review, and revision of K–12 curriculum aligned to state standards, student needs and district priorities.
- Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum and instruction across grade levels and content areas.
- Facilitate curriculum committees and teacher-led curriculum development teams.
- Support the integration of culturally responsive practices and instructional strategies to ensure effective and equitable educational experiences for all students.
- Oversee adoption and implementation of instructional materials and resources.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of balanced and efficient assessment systems.
- Support district and building teams in analyzing local, state, and national assessment data.
- Develop tools and processes to monitor student progress and instructional effectiveness.
- Collaborate with technology and data teams to ensure effective use of assessment platforms.
- Help lead and support the district's MTSS framework, ensuring fidelity of implementation.
- Collaborate with building teams to design tiered academic supports and intervention systems.
- Provide guidance on universal screening, progress monitoring, and data-based decision-making.
- Support alignment between MTSS, special education services, and instructional programming.
- Partner with building administrators and instructional coaches to strengthen classroom practice.
- Model research-based instructional strategies and facilitate peer collaboration.
- Support the implementation of district instructional frameworks and improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing systems for feedback, reflective practice, and continuous growth.
- Design and coordinate high-quality professional learning for teachers and administrators.
- Facilitate district-wide professional development aligned to strategic goals.
- Support induction, mentoring, and leadership development programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning experiences and adjust accordingly.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee district summer learning programs.
- Ensure alignment between summer programming and district academic priorities.
- Supervise curriculum, staffing, budgeting, and evaluation of summer initiatives.
- Serve as a collaborative member of the Teaching & Learning leadership team.
- Build strong partnerships with principals, teacher leaders, and department teams.
- Communicate effectively with staff, families, and community stakeholders.
- Support district strategic planning and school improvement processes.
- Vision for how curriculum, assessment, MTSS, PD, and district priorities connect into one coherent ecosystem.
- Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field.
- Valid Ohio teaching license required.
- Administrative license preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, assessment design, and instructional leadership.
- Experience with MTSS implementation and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- 12-month administrative contract (260 days).
- Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and Board-approved compensation guidelines.
- Salary Range: $107,000 - $135,000
