Job Title
Student Peer Leader – SENR

Job DescriptionSENR Peer Leaders facilitate academic success and community building among students within the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) at The Ohio State University. This role includes providing guidance during lectures and recitations, personal outreach, and support for student assignments and wellness.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with students during ENR 1100 Survey Course lecture sessions on Mondays (4:10‑5:05) at Kottman 103 on a rotating schedule, including delivering opening questions, conducting mini-workshops, and fostering connection-building.
- Provide support and facilitate discussions during ENR 1100 Survey Course recitations on Wednesdays. Recitation times: 11:30‑12:25 for New First Year Students, 3:00‑3:55 for Transfer Students, 4:10‑5:05 for New First Years and Honors.
Be assigned to a group of 10‑15 students for the semester, performing tasks such as:
- Direct outreach to assist students in building connections.
- Individual meetings with each student.
- Providing feedback on reflective assignments.
- Assisting with resume grading.
- Participate in weekly peer leader meetings to coordinate and plan student engagement activities.
- Contribute to building a community for all incoming students, address relevant academic and career issues, and support student wellness.
- Must be available for all required dates and times as specified in the role description.
- Ability to communicate effectively both online and in person.
- Demonstrated willingness to assist others and foster social connections.
- Basic knowledge of OSU resources and opportunities, particularly within SENR, or the ability to quickly locate such information.
- Reliable with consistent follow-through on commitments.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining open channels of communication.
- Proactive in helping others and eager to establish social networks.
- Informed or quick to learn about university resources and how to access them.
