Job DescriptionThe Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking a Civic Education Coordinator in the Office of Public Information. The Civic Education Coordinator promotes knowledge of the judiciary role through outreach, tours, seminars, and events.
Responsibilities- Tour Scheduling & Logistics Management: schedule, organize, and track data for group visits, maintain tour calendar, complete reservation forms, create online registration forms, prepare tour program policies, assist with transportation grant registration, confirm logistics.
- Educational Tour Coordination: conduct in-person and online educational tours of the Moyer Judicial Center and Visitor Education Center.
- Education & Promotional Material Development: develop and write educational materials for Visitor Education Center, Supreme Court website, and social media in collaboration with editorial, design, and production teams.
- Educational Content Development: assist in creating materials aligned with Ohio Learning Standards (grades 4-12) to educate about the judicial branch and Supreme Court roles.
- Volunteer Tour Guide Communication & Recognition: communicate with volunteer guides on scheduling, availability, and prepare annual recognition luncheon with justices.
- Exhibit Management: provide input on displays and exhibits, manage exhibit retirement and replacement schedule.
- Survey Management & Program Evaluation: distribute, monitor, compile results for online teacher surveys and event guest satisfaction surveys, suggest program improvements.
- Volunteer Recruitment, Screening & Training: develop strategies for recruiting, screening, training, recognizing, evaluating volunteer guides.
- Volunteer Materials Development: develop and write recruitment and training materials for volunteers in print and digital formats.
- Judicial Office Coordination: coordinate with judicial offices on public requests and assist justices with visitor inquiries.
- Outreach Program Support: assist Program Manager in developing and coordinating Off-Site Court sessions and other outreach programs.
- Extern and Intern Liaison: supervise college externs and high school interns in Civic Education, prepare semester calendars of goals and objectives.
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 0 years of experience.
Preferred:
Degrees in education, English, political science, history, journalism, communications, art history, American studies, or museum studies. - Technical

Non-exempt unclassified position reporting to Civic Education & Outreach Manager. Salary range commensurate with experience.
