Job OverviewA CNA Instructor provides theoretical and practical instruction to students enrolled in nursing aide programs. They ensure that students acquire the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to pass state certification exams and perform effectively in healthcare settings.
ResponsibilitiesInstructional Duties:
- Develop and deliver engaging course materials, lesson plans, and practical demonstrations.
- Teach foundational skills such as patient care, infection control, vital sign monitoring, and basic nursing procedures.
- Provide hands‑on training in a clinical or simulated lab setting.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, evaluations, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to CNA training programs.
- Prepare students for state certification exams by conducting mock tests and evaluations.
Support and Mentorship:
- Offer guidance and support to students to help them succeed academically and professionally.
- Provide constructive feedback on performance and areas for improvement.
Clinical Supervision:
- Oversee students during clinical rotations, ensuring they apply learned skills safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare facilities to coordinate clinical placements.
Education and Certification:
- A current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (requirements vary by state).
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in a long‑term care facility.
- Completion of a state-approved Train‑the‑Trainer or Nursing Aide Instructor course (if required by state law).
Experience:
- Prior teaching or mentorship experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of CNA curriculum and state certification requirements.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Clinical Expertise:
