Position Summary: To provide a safe designated walking area for students to cross streets to and from school.

• A high school diploma or equivalent training and experience.
• Ability to communicate courteously.
• Neat appearance.
• Ability to carry out assigned duties and make decisions independently.
• Other qualifications may be provided by the Board of Education.

• Direct students and traffic at the assigned intersection before and after school.
• Assist school staff with supervision of student crossing guards.
• Report any unusual conditions or hazards to the principal.
• Demonstrate correct procedures for crossing streets as necessary to students.
• Ensure the safety of students.
• Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
• Remain free of alcohol or non‑prescription controlled substances and abuse prescribed controlled substances in the workplace.
• Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
• Serve as a role model for students in conduct as responsible citizens.
• Understand legal responsibility to instill ethical principles and democratic values.
• Maintain confidentiality of confidential information.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

176 days (176 student days, 1 hr/day). Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

$32.93 per hour.
