Position Summary Provides comprehensive academic advising to undergraduate students in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) to support success, progression, and career development related to an HRS undergraduate degree. Guides goal setting, academic planning, and course selection; interprets university and program policies and degree requirements; and monitors academic progress. Advises students pursuing health care careers, facilitates referrals to campus resources and other degree‑granting units, and supports academic transitions.
Contributes to instruction of the HRS survey course, participates in orientation programs, and engages in committees, student organizations, and recruitment efforts as needed. Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities required.

- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- 65% Provides and documents comprehensive one‑on‑one academic advising to undergraduate students on degree and program options, academic standards, general education, prerequisite and major requirements, and course selection. Supports students experiencing academic, probationary, and financial concerns, and connects them to appropriate academic, career, financial, and wellness resources. Reviews and processes student requests, including add/drop courses, withdrawals, and program changes, ensuring alignment with university policies and timelines.
Identifies complex or unresolved issues and consults with or escalates to senior staff as appropriate. - 10% Assists with and participates in student orientation programs by preparing materials and presenting orientation content. Conducts one‑on‑one advising appointments for new first‑year students to support initial academic planning, course enrollment, and successful transition to the university.
- 15% Assists with instruction of the student survey course by delivering established curriculum while incorporating responsive and dynamic instructional practices to engage students and enhance learning. Adapts facilitation techniques as needed to support diverse learners, reinforce key concepts, and encourage participation. Participates in required training, maintains familiarity with course materials and learning objectives, and evaluates and grades student assignments in alignment with course standards and expectations.
- 10% Under regular direction, participates in and supports special and advising‑related projects as assigned, while proactively identifying and recommending new project opportunities to management. Performs administrative tasks that support advising and student services functions, as guided by the Director, including other duties as assigned. Actively engages in ongoing professional development and participates in school, college, and university‑level initiatives and opportunities.
