The Program Manager serves as the primary operational, administrative, and programmatic manager for the ASPIRE medical research program, a program within the Physician Scientist Education and Training office. Supporting a cohort of approximately 16 undergraduate students each year, the Specialist oversees the full student lifecycle—including recruitment and admissions, enrollment, program progression, academic and career advising, developmental support, and program completion—to ensure a cohesive, high-quality learner experience and strong matriculation outcomes.
This position works in close partnership with the Faculty Director of the ASPIRE medical research program, the Associate Director of the Medical Scientist Training Program, and Director of the Physician Scientist Education and Training (PSET) office to ensure that recruitment processes, curriculum delivery, support services, and student development programming are effectively executed, continuously improved, and aligned with the program’s mission.
Through student engagement, program coordination, data‑informed decision‑making, and proactive problem‑solving, the Specialist advances a supportive and mission‑driven learning environment for both current and former ASPIRE participants. This position also supports PSET networking, community building, and faculty mentorship training, including faculty mentorship development, networking and community‑building activities across PSET programs, managing initiatives like CONNECTOME, creating engagement opportunities, and promoting events and resources relevant to ASPIRE trainees and alumni.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Four years of relevant experience required. Four to eight years of relevant experience preferred.
This position requires strong leadership, operational planning, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and administrative management skills, along with excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational agility.
