Location: This position is primarily remote. The ideal candidate will reside in the Northeast Ohio region and be able to travel to our Columbus office approximately one day per week. Candidate must reside within the State of Ohio.
Status: Full Time, permanent
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year

Position SummaryRegional Education and Outreach Manager leads and supports Commission initiatives including meaningful educational programming, high-quality professional learning experiences, and impactful curriculum curation, as referenced by the Ohio Revised Code 197 and subsequent legislation. This role plays a critical part in promoting academic excellence while advancing awareness and education around the Holocaust and other genocides. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, collaborator, and advocate for standard‑aligned education across Ohio.
They will assist the Director of Education in the Commission's professional development for Ohio teachers in Holocaust and genocide education, working with partner institutions throughout the state and nationally, and support the Commission's efforts in public education initiatives.
- Design, implement and/or lead effective training programs that engage educators and/or students, enhancing learning experiences and instructional practices.
- Review, update, contribute to, and/or share curriculum resources that align with state academic standards and incorporate accurate, age‑appropriate content on the Holocaust and other genocides.
- Ensure all educational materials and trainings adhere to state and local educational standards and policies.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert, promoting comprehensive, thoughtful education on the Holocaust and other genocides through integrated curriculum, classroom support, and professional development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school personnel including teachers, principals, and superintendents to support instructional goals and regional initiatives.
- Collaborate with external partners and organizations to amplify resources, share expertise, and enhance regional educational offerings.
- Coordinate posting of content for public consumption on Commission electronic communication platforms (website and social media) and draft summaries of programs, events, curriculum resources and similar items of interest to Holocaust and genocide educators, partners and stakeholders across Ohio.
- Plan, schedule, and manage logistics for school field trips, guest speakers, and/or professional development conferences.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education, History, English Language Arts, Holocaust/Genocide Studies, or a similar area is required;
Master’s degree is preferred. - Minimum 3‑5 years teaching experience or instructional leadership in K‑12 education.
- Experience in professional development facilitation.
- Deep understanding of state education standards and compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Holocaust and genocide education.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel regionally and work flexible hours as needed.
- Expertise in Holocaust and genocide education.
- Strong and effective communicator and public speaker.
- Knowledge of national and regional education trends and standards.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong project planning, coordination, and evaluation skills.
- Highly organized and flexible in approach; ability to discern priorities and effectively shift when internal and external factors necessitate change in direction.
