Position Overview
The Division of Anatomy at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH invites applications for a full-time, one-year position (with the potential for additional yearly renewal) as a Lecturer in Anatomy for the academic year. This position is well suited for a candidate who seeks a career in teaching with emphasis on classroom and laboratory anatomical sciences education.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior training or experience in anatomy education.
The successful candidate will participate in the delivery of anatomical sciences to students at all levels. Responsibilities may include teaching opportunities with undergraduate, graduate and health professional students, as well as contributing to gross anatomy, embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy courses contingent on applicant’s qualifications. Additional responsibilities may include administrative duties to improve course efficiency, assist in coordinating events for the Anatomy Outreach Program and collaborating with other faculty on curriculum development within anatomy courses in a team-based environment.
We seek candidates who have experience teaching diverse populations of students by creating inclusive classrooms and by utilizing innovative pedagogy. The successful applicant will also be encouraged to develop publishable scholarship related to anatomical or education facilitated by collaboration with existing Division faculty.
Master’s degree in the anatomical sciences or equivalent required. Doctorate in anatomical sciences or equivalent preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with prior training or experience in anatomy education. Evidence of familiarity with dissection-based teaching and preference with laboratory instructional experience. An eagerness to engage with colleagues, staff, and administrators to develop improvement of educational experiences for our students.
