Research Faculty – Surgery Colon and Rectal – (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an open‑rank faculty member with a basic or translational science research focus in colorectal cancer. Candidates should have an established research program, a strong record of publications, and extramural funding. The role offers extensive collaboration with researchers within the university and cancer center, and access to clinical collaborators and human specimens.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies; develop and write grant proposals to secure extramural funding (e.g., NIH R01).
- Write and publish research in high‑quality peer‑reviewed journals; present findings at national and international scientific conferences; build a national and international scholarly reputation.
- Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees; participate in department, college, and university committees and initiatives.
- PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field.
- Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research.
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01).
- Academic experience is a plus.
- Qualified for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level; academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
