Position Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an open‑rank faculty member with a basic or translational science research focus in colorectal cancer. Candidates should have an established research program, a strong record of publications, and extramural funding. The role offers extensive collaboration with researchers within the university and cancer center, and access to clinical collaborators and human specimens.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies; develop and write grant proposals to secure extramural funding (e.g., NIH R01).
  • Write and publish research in high‑quality peer‑reviewed journals; present findings at national and international scientific conferences; build a national and international scholarly reputation.
  • Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees; participate in department, college, and university committees and initiatives.
Requirements
  • PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field.
  • Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research.
  • Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01).
  • Academic experience is a plus.
  • Qualified for academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level; academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
